ArcGIS Explorer

James Fee points to some posts on the new ArcGIS Explorer product. It was demonstrated at the ESRI European User Conference today. I really hope we get to see it at OZRI next week. (OZRI is the Australian User Conference.)

Some things I’ll be interested in:

  • The coverage and quality of the data provided by ESRI.
  • Support for WMS and WFS (apparently the new ArcGIS Explorer supports WFS out-of-the-box, but ArcGIS Desktop doesn’t?)
  • How open is it?
  • Is it a “Google Earth killer“.
  • The business model.
